Anthony is a freelance photographer born and raised in north London. An environment that shaped the person who he is today and remains the driving force behind his photography. From the graff on the street to the pounding beat of easy rider basslines, it was a life shared with metropolitan concrete that thrived as a hub of urban creativity. Cultural diversity fused with disparity, disparate backgrounds riffing comedy, tragedy and survival. For the last 20 years though his home has been in Parma where the subcultures familiar to Anthony in London similarly thrive and flourish. Neighbourhoods brought together with a shared passion such as those found within the skateboarding communities of Italy. It was an opportunity for Anthony to develop, refine and hone his techniques, this time not as a fellow skateboarder, but as a photographer. Capturing not only the airborne artistry of narley skateboarders but now the road of photography has led him to the Surf an opportunity to explore and picture their environment beyond both confines. His inspirations in photography and film are widespread and varied that include abstract, street and landscape mediums as well in monochrome photography. Today, his focus has expanded to the refined world of fine string instruments—photographing double basses, cellos, violins, and violas with the same attention to detail and storytelling. Whether capturing the airborne artistry of skateboarders, surfers or the craftsmanship of luthiers, Anthony’s images explore character, texture, and soul. Anthony lives in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.
